Welcome to our CAH Bike Odyssey

Welcome to our CWU College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) Bike Odyssey that begins 30th August and runs through 3 September. During those 5 days, music student Birkin Owart, music professor Chris Bruya, CAH alumna Sarah Olsen, CWU Writing Center Director Teresa Kramer, College of the Sciences Staff member Debbie Thomas and I will be riding roughly 60 miles each day (300 miles total) to raise money for CAH students and faculty. Other cyclists will join us for the final day of pedaling over Blewett Pass. See map below for our complete route, which takes us over two 4,000+ ft. mountain passes. Our desire to provide more money for excellent student and faculty research/creative projects will propel us over those challenging climbs. If you would like to sponsor a cyclist and thus help to support our outstanding CAH students and faculty, please click on the link provided on the right side of this blog page.

In addition to cycling, we will engage in some important community interaction. CWU Bridges mentors are organizing GEAR UP and Bridges students in Tonasket and Chelan to provide taco dinners for us after our rides. We will talk with K-12 students and parents in both Tonasket and Chelan about CWU and the college opportunity in general. CAH Board member Carol Hassen and her sister are providing a spaghetti dinner for us at the fish hatchery in Winthrop. We thank all of these folks and our sponsors for supporting this fundraising adventure!
